Open to all, a dance workshop with Sofi (see her dance bio below) that will focus on Latin styling and finishing. 

Sofi a former FwH student returns to Wellington and we are very excited to have a unique Latin styling and finishing workshop.  Sofi is a professional dancer and has a wealth of dance experience and this will be a highly valued workshop to give you that little extra finish to your Latin dancing.

Cost: $40pp for FwH Students (and $50pp for non-FwH Students)

Sofi’s bio:

 I first started dancing at High School in Manila and was part of the School Dance troupe specialising in Modern and Filipino Folk dancing. On leaving school I joined a trio called the Mega Dance Tracks. The purpose of the group was to compete in TV shows where we won many awards and appeared on many shows. We won Grand Champion twice on a noon time TV show called Pasikatan. This group evolved and grew to a seven member troupe so we could enter other competitions and fiestas around the Manila Province and expand on our successes.

 In 2000 I worked for an agency teaching dance routines to girls who were training to perform in Japan. Later that year I danced for the Cultural Centre of the Philippines in Manila in a long running show called the Amazing Philippine Theatre Show. After 1 year with the company I was asked by the agency to return and continue teaching for them.

 In 2010 I moved to Bulacan Province where I joined an all male group called Campus Avenue as the lead female dancer. This allowed the group to expand on the type of competitions that could be entered. We were very successful travelling around Luzon Island competing and regularly winning competitions.

 In 2014 I joined Feet with Heat studios in Wellington to practice American Latin dancing and was awarded Bronze and Silver Award (with honours) for American Latin dancing. Currently living in Hamilton where I continued my dancing at Dancewell Studio until they closed in August 2023 and with Danceworx Studio.
